  • Performance Reveal: Eleni Ploumi, Daisy Dakpark

BUTFF serves you a breath-taking (for various reasons) programme of performative arts. This year, you can expect:

    .

    Eleni Ploumi, Sat. 3-9 | 19:15 - 19:45 | BUTsquare

As a dancemaker, Ploumi always performs her own creations, strongly inclining towards performance art. Her work is characterized by intense physical activity combined with theatrical elements. "knocking on my mind" is a work developed especially for the BUTFF 2022, in which obsession and de(con)struction reside.

    Daisy Darkpark, Thu. 1-9 | 19:30 - 20:00 | BUTsquare

  • Music Reveal: Pier15 brings Das Ding & Jack Fresia to BUTClub

    Thursday, Sept 1, 20:00
    .
Pier15 skatepark and BUTFF present an evening full of modular madness, as two tycoons of the underground electronic sound will make you sweat in BUTclub’s boiler room.
    .
    Das Ding
What started off with a cassette label ‘Tear Apart Tapes’ in the 80’s turned to a lifetime of playing, designing, and producing for Das Ding. A few years ago, the famed imprint Minimal Wave brought great attention to his early work. Das Ding’s live-set is always expanding, shrinking, and evolving.

  • Special Guest: Robert Bronzi

Our vigilante guest for BUTFF2022 is no less than the Charles Bronson clone and the Wild West stuntman, Robert Bronzi.

Bronzi is a professionally trained actor, a stuntman, acrobat, and judo player. He’s spent most of his acting career in live performances and Wild West theme shows. Robert’s film count also includes feature films, such as “The Seven Gallant”, “Death Kiss”, “Escape From Death Block 13”. Most recently, he has signed to play The Dago in an upcoming comedy feature “Mat Rats”.

  • Music Reveal: Friday, the Night of Metal

By now, it’s a tradition that we serve BUTters some good metal on Fridays. We’re honoured to drag this habit into BUTFF2022. Here is our superstar selection:
    .
Neroth – Where black metal and classical vocals merge into one huge atmosphere. This Eindhoven-based band gets a lot of inspiration from black metal but breaks with the typicality of the genre by applying clean female vocals. This June, Neroth released their debut EP, Noctural Woods.

  • “No one is silent watching BUT movies. It’s an interactive screening” - volunteer coordinator Zasya Twisk on BUTFF impressions

What do you do in BUT?

I've been in different positions in BUT. I started behind the sandwich bar: managing it, the groceries, everything. That year, I was also helping out with watching the short movies - voting for them and suggesting which ones we would screen. That's the first thing I did.

In the years after, I started working in pre-production as well as production. I was working with Dorien a lot. She's the head of the festival in terms of organisation and producing*, and I was basically her right hand.

  • Special Guest: Pollyanna McIntosh

You read that right! The star of “The Walking Dead” and “Let Us Prey”, the one and only Pollyanna McIntosh will visit BUTFF2022 as a special guest.

Pollyanna is known for her unique acting style, where she blends sassy humour with intriguing sexuality. That’s what we do at BUTFF too (only sometimes, it gets too intriguing), so we’re very excited to see Pollyanna in August, and we hope you are, too.

We’ll be screening several of Pollyanna’s movies. The guest will introduce a few of those herself, and follow up with a Q&A. We will show:

  • BUTWrite – come write for a film outlet

Are you looking to expand your movie-loving into writing movie reviews or movie-related articles? BUTFF invites you to participate in BUTWrite, our programme for aspiring film writers. It’s simple: you write a piece about BUT/related to the BUT universe and we help you pitch it to the right outlets. Our current list of outlets includes horror sites, general film news, stories about independent cinema, and outlets specifically for fresh film writers. Choose your best!
